Hi, I'm David
LOCAL BORN AND RAISED
Born and raised in Bloomsburg, David is active in the local community, and has participated in multiple boards including Susquehanna Valley United Way, Bloomsburg Area YMCA, Columbia County Traveling Library, and the Columbia Montour Council of the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Review Board. Being an Eagle Scout himself, the position he holds on the Review Board is near and dear to his heart.
​David is inspired by his mother, a retired Bloomsburg attorney, and his father, a judge here from 2000-2022. David respects and admires his parents' contributions to the law, and says of his father, Thomas, "My dad is a fantastic and great jurist. I was fortunate to grow up behind it, which gave me a unique perspective on the lessons I've seen him teach other people and myself."
COMMITMENT TO JUSTICE
David has practiced law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for more than a decade. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in government and law with a minor in philosophy at Lafayette College; his Master in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University; and his degree of Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law, where he was an editor for the Criminal Law Journal.
After graduating law school, David worked for the Allegheny County Public Defender’s Office as an Assistant Public Defender. In 2016, he moved home to Bloomsburg to join the law firm of Harding, Hill & Turowski, LLP (now Hill, Turowski, James & Lehman, LLP), becoming a partner in the firm in 2019. Recently, David joined the Columbia
County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney.

David has been considering running for a county judge seat for about two years. "I love the law and I think the law and judicial system can do such good things for people. I want to be a part of that."
AREAS OF PRACTICE
As a partner at a busy general practice lawfirm, David is litigating in court multiple times a week. Areas of practice include civil litigation, estate administration, family law, municipal law, criminal law, estate planning, landlord/tenant law, and real estate.

David's vision is clear - "As a judge, I will be fair, firm, reasonable, efficient, just, and will employ common sense in making timely decisions, so that each person is treated with respect, equity, and fairness." David feels efficiency saves taxpayer money while fairness and common sense are supported by honest, ethical, and moral judicial practices.
